10 Essential Things to Pack for Your Glamping Break in the UK
Thinking about a glamping break but not sure what to pack? Whether it’s your first stay or your fifth, here’s a no-stress guide to the essentials — including some handy extras to make your stay extra cosy. Based on what guests love most about glamping at places like Pinewood Park in Scarborough, this list works for all types of glamping in the UK.
1. Comfy Clothing for All Weathers
Glamping may be more luxurious than camping, but the British weather can still be unpredictable! Layers, waterproofs, and something warm for evenings around the fire are a must.
2. Footwear for Exploring
Bring boots or wellies for countryside walks, and a comfier pair for relaxing at your glamping spot. Sandals or flip-flops are handy for hot tubs too!
3. Towels & Robes
Some sites (like us here at Pinewood!) include bedding in some cabins, but not always towels. Bring extra for hot tub dips or beach visits.
4. Torches or Fairy Lights
Even if your pod, hut, or wagon has lighting, a torch is useful for late-night toilet trips — or bring battery-powered fairy lights to make things extra magical.
5. Food & Drinks Essentials
While many glamping units have fridges, kettles or BBQs, a cool box and reusable tableware always come in handy. At Pinewood Park, we are only 2 miles from Scarborough town centre, so not a lot of cooking goes on up here.....which is always a bonus for the cook in the family! After all....you are on holiday!
6. Charging Cables & Power Banks
Some accommodation includes electric hook-up; others don’t. A fully charged power bank can be a lifesaver (especially with teens!).
7. Games & Entertainment
Card games, books, or even outdoor games like rounders or boules are great for screen-free time.
8. Toiletries & First Aid Bits
Eco-friendly soaps, toothbrushes, and a mini first-aid kit go a long way — especially with little ones around.
9. Beach Day Bag
If you're staying near the coast (hello, Scarborough!), pack a beach towel, sun cream, and bucket & spade so you’re ready for spontaneous seaside fun.
10. That One Luxury Item
It’s glamping after all — not boot camp. Whether it’s a bottle of fizz, your favourite throw, or a speaker for music, bring one thing that makes it feel like your perfect escape.
