Pinewood Park is a very fun and unique location for a school visit, and is the perfect base for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding areas including Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey, Bridlington, and York.
Children can experience a unique camping trip while staying in the Cowboy and Indian themed Tipis and Cabins or pitch their own tents on the camping field – which the school would have exclusive use of.
If hiring the whole camping field, schools have access to an additional adjoining field, which is perfect for outdoor activities, at no additional costs – but this must be confirmed before arrival.
The camping field can hold up to 32 people.
The Tipi Campground can officially hold up to 80 people (40 adults & 40 children). As the accommodation is set out with a double and 2 single beds, it is practical for up to 3 people to stay in each unit.
There is the option to hire both the Tipi Campground and the camping field – both are close to each other, and this way, the camping field could also be used for activities.
There is also an option to hire ‘Woody’s Barn’ as an indoor venue, and this would need to be confirmed at the time of booking. Woody’s Barn could be useful as a ‘class room’ or as a fun place to spend a couple of hours in the evening – playing board games or listening to some music, or even a mini talent show. The maximum capacity of the barn is 80 people, with seating for 60. More details on Wood’s Barn can found on the Woody’s Barn website page.
Schools are very welcome to bring gazebos for cooking at no extra charge.
Pinewood can be used as a base for exploring the surrounding area, or as somewhere to spend time at – maybe learning about the environment or how the Indians lived many years before.
